GOVERNANCE

The ultimate global body of world of wheelchair cricket is held by the Member Associations/Countries through AGM/General Assembly and the approval of the Constitution and Bylaws.
The Member Association countries elect the Chairperson & President and Board members to lead the council, which they do through the development of a Strategic Forward Plan and the approval of appropriate Policy documents.
The Board appoints a full time Secretary General CEO, CFO to lead the staff and operations of the council and deliver the Forward Plan.
The work of international wheelchair cricket is supported by a number of Commissions who provide advice and support to the Board and staff and if requested can report direct to the Member Associations at General Meetings.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION

The ICWC Executive Board confirmed the full status of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission in December 2025 following a year period as a Working Group. The commission’s responsibility is to propose strategies, policies, rules and recommendations that empower wheelchair cricket athlete and the game development and its Member countries to implement diversity, equity and inclusion best practices and actions in alignment with the ICWC’s strategic commitments and goals.

CLASSIFICATION

The Classification Working Group is responsible to advise the ICWC Executive Board and ICWC corporately on classification issues; to develop and maintain plans, policies and procedures related to classification including the classification system and classifier training and certification; to assist in ensuring wheelchair cricket remains compliant with the international classification method for athletes to select classifiers to participate in ICWC authorize events.

game development

The Development Working Group is responsible to advise the Board and ICWC corporately on development issues for the game of Wheelchair Cricket and its disciplines; to develop and maintain plans, policies and procedures related to development; and to prepare and implement sport and discipline development programs.

TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP

The Technical Working Group is responsible to advise the Board and ICWC corporately on technical issues relating to the game of Wheelchair Cricket and its disciplines; to develop and maintain plans, policies and procedures for rules, equipment, officials’ training, umpiring courses, officials’ selection; to maintain and update the International Rules of playing wheelchair cricket the match playing conditions and the players well-being plans.
