International Council of Wheelchair Cricket (ICWC) is the governing body of wheelchair cricket around the world. ICWC aims to promote and develop this unique format of cricket game for young physically challenged wheelchair confined persons to participate in recreational and competitive healthy activity at all level from beginners to excellence level.
Wheelchair Cricket plays by specially designed modified, sports wheelchair made for grassy playgrounds where cricket matches played. T-20 & One-Day format introduces in wheelchair cricket, with all same rules like normal cricket except the length of the pitch is 18 yards and boundary line limit is 50 to 55 yards.

ICWC aims to work together with other national and international federation’s cricket boards and specially willing to associate with the International Cricket Council (ICC). This game encourage with the integration and inclusion of wheelchair cricketers. ICWC has now twelve member countries including Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, England, and Afghanistan & Sri-Lanka as full member countries. Iran, Cambodia & Zimbabwe are associate members. ICWC Principal & Corporate office in Muscat Oman.

HISTORY & FOUNDATION

Pakistan is the pioneer country of wheelchair cricket. Wheelchair cricket was invented in late 90s in different parts of the country by some NGOs & DPOs organized wheelchair cricket just a segment in sports and occasion in festival. In 1996 a person having an idea to made a separate identity of wheelchair cricket around the world. In 2012 Muhammad Zishan gave the identity of wheelchair cricket with sound vision by the formation of 1st wheelchair cricket team in Pakistan. By his some friends and colleagues supported him for his mission. 1st International appearance of wheelchair cricket to organized world 1st international matches series between Pakistan & Nepal in Kathmandu 2015. Haroon Rasheed from India is the co-founder member of wheelchair cricket by the strong support of Mohammad Mohasin from Bangladesh.
