CEO Message

Our vision of being a “World Best Game on Wheelchair” is still very much alive with to uplift this game of wheelchair cricket spread globally. You will see the ICWC growing from strength to strength with several initiatives across the whole range of our activities including governance, education, anti-doping, disciplines, classification, rules, competitions. We will keep the communication channels open and if you wish to contribute on any matters, we encourage you to let me know.

The most importing thing is guiding the game of wheelchair cricket through the need to re-evaluate its international competition structure for the near future.

Also, the excitement of upcoming ICWC major events the T-20 Asia Cup & the T-20 World Cup 2026 this year.  Our global body continues to be supportive and we are working with them more closely to ensure our competition will be successful with maximum participation of all the member countries.

Secondly, by continuing how we approach engaging and developing with disciplines in addition to the wheelchair cricket game format. It is an exciting concept and also one that for some are either concerned or unsure about. For me, this is about providing the opportunity for more people to play wheelchair cricket. Having this pathway from training to competition is central to giving people the inspiration and the aspiration to “together we win”.

This is how we can grow the sport not just internationally but nationally at the grassroots. We can create stronger regional and national level teams that can have both disciplines with an overlap so that some players can compete in both disciplines.

I once again thankful to all my team members and our supporters to join with us to promote and develop the game of wheelchair cricket around the world.

Kind regards,

Ghazal Khan
